Arxx Testing and Reports

Arxx has undertaken the following test procedures to substantiate data on the perfromance of Arxx Walls & Foundations.

  • Thermal Resistance Value (R-Value) 10" Form (Report PDF 525k)
    Calculations in accordance with ASHRAE 90.1 determined the R-Value of the 10" Arxx wall assembly to be R-21.79.

  • Thermal Resistance Value(R-Value) 8" Form (Report PDF 691k)
    Calculations in accordance with ASHRAE 90.1 determined the R-Value of the 8" Arxx wall assembly to be R-21.67.
  • Thermal Resistance Value(R-Value) 6" Form (Report PDF 685k)
    Calculations in accordance with ASHRAE 90.1 determined the R-Value of the 6" Arxx wall assembly to be R-22.10.
  • Thermal Resistance Value(R-Value) 4" Form (Report PDF 520k)
    Calculations in accordance with ASHRAE 90.1 determined the R-Value of the 4" Arxx wall assembly to be R-17.12.
  • Analysis to Determine Thermal Mass Performance (Report PDF 2615k)
    of a Typical 9" (220mm) ICF Form Wall using the ENVSTD compliance program for ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1 - The Insulated Concrete Form Association (ICFA) retained the services of Construction Technology Laboratories to perform the study based on a Typical ICF wall of 2" (50mm) of EPS on each side of a 5" (125mm) concrete wall. The study concluded that there are many cities in North America where a conventionally framed, low mass wall would need to be insulated to R-50 in order to perform as well as the typical ICF wall. Arxx is superior to the typical ICF wall in that it incorporates 2-5/8" (65mm) of EPS on each side of a 6-1/4" (160mm) or 8" (200mm) concrete wall (more insulation and more thermal mass). Therefore, it can be assumed that there would be even more cities within North America where a conventionally framed, low mass wall would need to be insulated to R50 in order to perform as well as a Arxx wall.
  • Sound Transmission Class (Report PDF 1027k)
    Howe Gastmeter Chapnik Limited was retained to perform field sound transmission class testing on the Arxx 6" High Performance wall with 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) gypsum board on both sides of the wall. The STC was determined to be 50.
